Excitement rises for the visit of Sheran Harper, Mothers’ Union Worldwide President to Llandaff Diocese
The visit of the Worldwide President, Sheran Harper, to the Llandaff Diocese in September is so exciting. Sheran is the first Worldwide President to be appointed from outside of Britain and Ireland. She hails from Guyana in the Caribbean. The Trustee Board is busy preparing for the visit and we are eager to demonstrate to Sheran, the wonderful, inspiring work we undertake in the name of Mothers’ Union across the Diocese.
Our plans include a visit the play area in HM Parc Prison Bridgend and a site visit to the AFIA Caravan in Trecco Bay, Porthcawl.
A Cymanfa Ganu has been organised at St David’s Church, Neath in the afternoon, where there will also be a display of the inspirational projects at branch, deanery and diocesan level.
The Cymanfa Ganu will commence at 4.00pm and will include many favourite hymns set to famous Welsh hymn tunes. Sheran Harper will address members, as she tells us of her Mothers’ Union journey in Guyana and her inspirational work undertaken in the name of Mothers’ Union. We would love to see as many members attend the Cymanfa Ganu and there will be an opportunity to meet and talk to our Worldwide President over refreshments after the service.
